Book Release Reception: Susan Hood, Lifeboat 12

Please join Pequot Library on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 7:00pm in celebrating the release of award-winning children’s author and Westport resident Susan Hood’s new book, Lifeboat 12, the little-known story of the sinking of the SS City of Benares, a ship whose mission was to transport British children to Canada during the Blitz of World War II. Pequot Library is located at 720 Pequot Avenue, Southport.

Museum After Dark: Connecticut Icon

Fairfield Museum and History Center on September 20th

In this entertaining collection of photos, anecdotes, and little-known facts, Charles Monagan presents dozens of his favorite things in Connecticut. In 2006, “Connecticut Icons” was published by Globe Pequot and sold out three printings. In 2017, Connecticut Icons has been reissued, with updates and additional icons.

Members: Free; Non-Members: $5. Reception from 6:30 – 7pm. Presentation at 7pm.
