Highlighted Baseball History Events for September – October 2017 are:
The Annual Tri-Town Vintage game will be played in Deep River, CT on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00pm. The event will be held at Devitt Field, 245 South Main St and is sponsored by the historical societies from Chester, Deep River and Essex. There will be 3 six inning games played following 1857 rules, back when pitchers were hurlers and no one wore baseball gloves. Take this opportunity to see vintage base ball being played as teams from each of the three towns compete at this fourth annual free event. Get an insider’s view of the Commissioner’s Office from a 2017 inductee to the Nebraska Baseball Hall of Fame by attending an author talk given by Bob Wirz. He will be speaking about his book The Passion of Baseball: A Journey to the Commissioner’s Office of Major League Baseball at the Stratford Library on October 15 from 2:00 to 4:00pm.
